As we come into the last two weeks of the calendar year, this full Moon is a chance to truly go within and reflect – much more so than other Full Moons we have during the spring/ summer. This is the first Moon in Gemini that is NOT an eclipse for a while- so it may feel like a bit of a fresh start.
The larger Moon cycle is a 6 and a half month cycle between the New Moon in that sign and the full moon. We had the NEW moon in Gemini on 10th June. Can you think back to what you were starting or intending around this time? What were you planning, what was happening? What has come to fruition since then and what new learnings do you have now you wish you could tell the you on the 10th June?
Where this full Moon falls, at 27 degrees of Gemini, happens to be directly opposite the Galactic Centerre
The Galactic Centre is believed to be the heart of our Universe, and home to some of the most potent, magical, and mysterious energy in our cosmic skies.
When we have an opposition, it can lead to intense feelings in the area that the sky is linked to in our lives. As next year is, in Numerology terms the year of 6 (2+0+2+2) this is linked to the third eye, and our intuition. I think this opposition will be a ‘wake up’ call for many and this awakening will continue and deepen into 2022.
Gemini is an air sign and is all about mental processes. It could be symbolised by a complicated clockwork mechanism. People with Gemini energy in their charts like to think things through and especially if you have a Gemini Moon, you’ll find emotional fulfilment by intellectualising things, studying and sharing theories.
As this December 2021 Full Moon follows the Sagittarius Solar Eclipse, we may also find that more illumination arises. Whatever was stirred for us at the Eclipse may now become more obvious and we find more clarity around the issues raised.
Jupiter, the planet of expansion and abundance, is also forming important aspects (a trine) during this full moon, and it magnifies whatever it touches. This will enable us to expand our perspective and find some solutions with the Gemini focus on knowledge and thinking. This Moon shines a light on the solutions you are looking for – if you can keep an open mind and trust what comes through.
On the same day as the Full Moon, Venus also goes retrograde and from our viewpoint here on earth, the direction of her energy changes and helps us focus on the patterns we have been creating around relationships, love, beauty and harmony. These relationships are not just with others but also our relationship with money and the things that we value.
This will last until the 29th January and may be quite an emotional time- everything no longer serving you from a relationship point of view will fall away. Especially after the last 2 years, this may mean a culmination of things that have been brewing for a while.
As Venus is stationing retrograde close to Pluto, the planet of power, we may find a new sense of power budding within our heart centre. We may even feel more empowered to make heart-led decisions.
Alternatively, we may also find that this Venus-Pluto dynamic highlights where we are not standing in our power, and where we need to find more balance in our relationships with others.
Along with the energy of Venus and Pluto, we also have Saturn and Uranus getting ready to form their third and final square for the year. This is the final point to this movement they’ve been making all year and it may feel like a bit of a release afterwards.
This may show up as a feeling of a push-pull between freedom and boundaries, but also a restlessness when it comes to how to approach something.
Saturn wants us to follow the rules and fall in line, whereas Uranus wants us to think outside the box and do things differently. Saturn represents the past, whereas Uranus represents the future.
In order to balance these energies in our lives, we need to acknowledge the lessons and wisdom of our past but now look forward to the future and to the new possibilities that may lie ahead.
We may also have to take a leap of faith and take a new and innovative approach to some of the old and outdated actions we have been taking.
2021 Fatigue & The Moon
If 2021 has got you feeling like you just need 3 weeks in bed to recover, you are not alone. I’ve been speaking to a lot of people about this sense of trying to push ourselves but just feeling emotionally spent and really tired and run down. If you have a sense of this, listen to what is coming up for you and feel into some gentle 2022 planning.
