I’ve been allowing a big shift to come through in the way I’m working over the last few months. I have recognised that whilst I left my corporate job in 2019, I still had many ingrained habits and beliefs from my 15 years working for agencies and large companies as well as my time in school. They consisted of:
It was an ongoing cycle of over-working, getting burnt out, pulling back, feeling guilty for pulling back, then starting all over again.
Unsurprisingly, working with this set of beliefs meant that I felt that what I was doing was never enough- there was always more to be done, and I felt like I was ‘slacking off’ and should expect lower income if I dared to work fewer hours.
When I started working with the Moon cycle seriously about a year ago, it was like I could finally start to see where my pattern of behaviour was actually keeping me stuck. Like a fly buzzing against a window not realising there is an open door nearby. That’s not to say that I was able to change overnight, but I am identifying and changing my identity around work, value, success and money.
I’m pretty fascinated with our personal astrological charts and how they play out in our lives. The North Node is the purpose/ direction / theme of your life, whilst your South Node is your comfort zone where you can resort to hanging out, or your way of being which holds you back. My North Node is in Cancer, and my South Node is Capricorn.
Cancer is the sign of feminine nurturing leadership, of using emotion as a powerful guide, it is the sign of the Moon. It is about receiving, trusting, and a deep knowing that there is more to life than the superficial level we sometimes get lost in. It is an ancestral sign linking back to the generations we have come from. The Cancer energy is about being THEIR leading lady right now. For all they went through, for the progress that has been made.
Is linked to making effort, working hard, of logical structure, it is striving, making logical plans. It is very rigid, it is about following rules, about going it alone. Professional success is the focus and those with Capricorn energy may sacrifice other areas of their life in the pursuit of their ambitions. It can be called the ‘workaholic’ sign.
Seeing this in black and white really helped me identify that actually *not* constantly striving and working harder, of feeling more into my intuitive skills IS actually my ‘work’ – the thing I find most challenging is letting go, trusting it will work out without micro-managing everything.
This totally reinforces and intensifies the energy of the Cancer/Capricorn axis my nodes are on:
This is pushing to find a deep experience of life beyond material goods. Being open to money coming to me in unexpected ways rather than hustling. Diving into the occult and ask deeper questions. Learn how to let go and surrender.
I think this is the work of our generation, but especially those of us with the Cancer/Capricorn placement. (If you were born between September 25th 1981 and March 16th 1983 you do too!)
